Denis Byrne Architects have won the 'Best Sustainable Building' and 'Best Commercial Building' categories for the Bord Gais Networks Services Centre building at Dubber Cross, Finglas, Dublin 11.

10.06.2013 – FINGLAS SOCIAL WELFARE OFFICES:
Denis Byrne Architects have been commissioned to design the alterations to Finglas Social Welfare Offices for the Office of Public Works.

The Bord Gais Networks Services Centre building has been shortlisted for the RIAI ‘Building of the Year’ Award. The winner will be chosen by a public vote and the results are to be announced at the awards ceremony on 4th of July at theWood Quay Venue, Civic Offices, Dublin 8.

26.05.2013– CARRIG NATIONAL SCHOOL:
The school design has passed Stage 2a of the process and has been instructed to proceed to a full planning application, anticipated for early July.

The Bord Gais Networks Services Centre building has been chosen by a public vote as the CMG ‘Building of the Year’ in an awards ceremony on 26th of April at the Royal Marine Hotel, Dun Laoghaire, Co Dublin.

26.04.2013 – Winner- IRISH CONCRETE SOCIETY AWARDS:
The Bord Gais Networks Services Centre building has won the Building Category award and a Sustainable Commendation at the Irish Concrete Society Awards 2013. The results were announced at the awards ceremony on 26th of April at the Royal Marine Hotel, Dun Laoghaire, Co Dublin.

The Bord Gais Networks Services Centre building has formally achieved a BREEAM rating of ‘Excellent’, one of only three in the country for similar buildings.

The Bord Gais Networks Services Centre building has been shortlisted in the Green Awards 2013. The results are to be announced at the awards ceremony on 18th April at the Burlington Hotel, Dublin.

07.03.2013 – MARCONI PROJECT FEASIBILITY STUDY:
Denis Byrne Architects have been commissioned, with Alan Sherwood Associates, to prepare a feasibility study for the Interpretative Plan of the Marconi Wireless Telegraphy site at Derrygimlagh Bog, near Clifden, Co Galway. The April at the Crown Court Hotel, Dublin. The commission is from Failte Ireland, as part of the Wild Atlantic Way tourist route.

05.03.2013 – ASA LECTURE, DIT, BOLTON STREET, DUBLIN 1:
Denis Byrne Architects delivered a lecture at DIT titled Urban:Landscape as part of the college’s Spring series of lectures from architectural practices.

22.10.2012 – BUNSCOIL COLAISTE MHUIRE:
Denis Byrne Architects have been commissioned to design a new primary school on Dominick Street, Dublin 1 for Bunscoil Colaiste Mhuire Gaelscoil. The new building is situated in the Dublin City Council Dominick Street Masterplan area, and will comprise 8 classrooms with ancillary accommodation.

01.10.2012 – COOLOCK SOCIAL WELFARE OFFICES:
Denis Byrne Architects have been commissioned to design the alterations to Coolock Social Welfare Offices for the Office of Public Works.

17.09.2012 – LIGHTHOUSE BUILDING GOES ON SITE:
The Lighthouse building for the Dublin Christian Mission, at 28 Pearse Street, Dublin 2, goes on site today. The building comprises an extension and refurbishment to the existing building to provide better kitchen and public dining facilities, two new apartments and general improvement works.

27.02.2012 – SWEENEY LIBRARY AND THEATRE, KILKEE, CO CLARE OPENED BY MINISTER JIMMY DEENIHAN:
The recently completed Sweeney Memorial Library and Theatre, Kilkee, Co Clare has been opened this evening by Jimmy Deenihan, Minister for Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht. In attendance were Mayor of Clare Cllr Pat Hayes, Helen Walsh County Librarian and Siobhan Mulcahy County Arts Officer.

Denis Byrne Architects have been commissioned to design the new 1,000 sqm extension to the primary school at Carrig, Ballycommon, Nenagh, Co Tipperary. The new building will comprise 8 classrooms with ancillary accommodation and the existing building is a protected structure.

The visit will focus on the landscape design elements of the project as part of its integrated sustainable design approach. Topotek 1 developed the landscape design following the architectural Competition in 2008.

Denis Byrne Architects have completed a 190 sqm
(2,050 sq ft) single family house near Newcastle,
Co Wicklow for under €300,000. The house is externally insulated and heated by geo-thermal heat pump to achieve a high energy and sustainability rating.
